PERIL-PALOOZA ROCKS THE HOUSE OF WOLLENBERG: MATTITUDE AND IMPACT FLAVORS LEAVE MARK

09/20/06

By Chili ConQueso

Peril-Palooza proved that titles don't need to be defended for insanity to reign supreme. The card didn't disappoint, which is common, because it often never disappoints. Risks were taken, and peril and mayhem and anar-malarkey reigned, as the buildup for New Year's Malarkey continues.

The pay-per-view began with Dan “PVC Pipe” Coppeto attempting to type up the card on an old school typewriter. The lack of a backspace caused tempers to flair, emotions to ramble, and one thing led to another before we had on our hands a handicap match! It was PVC Pipe and Dr. Jerkenstein versus the typewriter. Dan began with a flurry of offensive tosses and a hammering of hammerings with a sledgehammer. The typewriter was smashed to bits, but the offense kept coming. Coppeto unleashed a series of technical wrestling holds and maneuvers to confuse and confound the typewriter. Several PVP Pipe Leg Drops and belly-to-back Suplexes later, the typewriter was reeling and Coppeto was exhausted, so he tagged in his partner, Dr. Jerkenstein, for the final time in the match. Jerkenstein betrayed Coppeto and put the typewriter on him for the 3 count and the upset pin. Coppeto was devastated, but one must question: is this the only fued with technology the erratic PVC Pipe will have? Only time will tell.

The next match pitted developmental talent against each other as the team of Smoke Dawg and his Hoes (EBW Sex Kittens HoMo and HoJo) faced off against the team of Rocko's Modern Knife, a stable consisting of Master Corn, Silver Bassist and champion KC Insane. It was a hectic match with insane action all around…to insane to call in fact! The match went back and forth with Insane introducing the new talent to EBW and showing them the ropes in the most Insane way possible. In the end, Master Corn pinned Smokedawg in front of his Hoes for the win.

Nick “The Blazer” Cipriano couldn't be at SummerSauce due to homework he had. However, in his name, Pastor Pain held the first ever Money in the Sack match. Similar to a Money in the Back match from Wrestlemania fame, the competitor who retrieves the Money in a Sack by climbing a ladder and retrieving the sack suspended above the backyard would win an automatic title shot. The competitors were Pastor Pain, PVC Pipe, Paul Mercedes, Phoenix, and the Apprentice of Mattitude. Paul Mercedes dominated from the outset, using harsh tomfoolery and weapons to claim an advantage. Pastor Pain delivered a series of sharp kicks to Mercedes to gain control as Phoenix took care of Apprentice of Mattitude. After an attempt at a flying Matt Hardy elbow, Apprentice lost momentum and the action spilled out of the backyard and into the backyard. Paul Mercedes took out competitors with suplexes and DDTs and appeared to once again be the man who would gain a title shot in EBW, when Pastor Pain paid Paul back for his sins with a series of signature techniques and weapon shots. However, when Pastor Pain tried to retrieve the Money in the Sack, Apprentice tipped the ladder over and nearly killed Pastor Pain by forcing him to fall all of 3 feet to the ground. The action continued, the mayhem intensified, the peril escalated further, until the Apprentice of Mattitude stole the show by jumping off the almost top of the ladder on to everyone involved in the match, taking them all out completely. He then climbed the ladder, grabbed the sack, and was crowned Mr. Money-In-The-Sack.

The Main Event pitted KC Insane vs. Paul Mercedes and Phoenix in the Paul Mercedes and Phoenix Invitational 1. We could spend time focusing on how the match went down, but it was the ramifications of the match that matters most: After eliminating KC Insane with a ladder clothesline and eliminating Phoenix by choking him, Paul Mercedes joined yet another faction when he formed the Impact Flavors with Phoenix, striking the infamous Impact Players pose of Justin Credible and Lance Storm with Phoenix after the match. They promised changes, but how long until?
